Black & White Coffee Cartel - Plymouth Lane
General Information
Overview
"A fresh start sounds just like what New Zealand and Christchurch, especially, needs after the Canterbury earthquakes that occurred in 2011. Black and White Coffee Cartel wants to bring just that to our locals, initiating a new franchise of coffee shops that are determined to introduce their unique and funky vibe to the streets of Canterbury. This specific cafe is located in Plymouth Lane.Keeping the idea of ‘the future’ in mind Bink Bowler - the founder of Black and White Coffee Cartel - is embarking on a warm atmosphere filled with the aroma of freshly ground coffee and relaxation no matter the person. Here at the Cartel you can expect delicious food, drinks and incredibly welcoming and personal service from our staff. But wait, just before you thought it couldn’t get any better, there’s a new spin to introduce - During the first year the team decided to liven things up by introducing New Zealand’s first ‘micro-roasting coffee franchise,’ meaning you can watch as your very own coffee gets roasted there on site! Along with this individuality, Black and White Coffee Cartel has loud music to enjoy, mismatching furniture from multiple eras, art coating the walls and relatable baristas that are just like you and me.And watch out, they even cater to all gluten and dairy-free lovers out there! So whether it’s in a suit, flip flops or work boots, come along to a Black and White Coffee Cartel near you - Wherever the location, you’re very welcome here!"
Notes for Cardholders
"Here at the Black and White Coffee Cartel, we are determined to make all of our customers feel welcome and have a positive experience at any location. We acknowledge that our disabled customers potentially face some barriers that we could help them overcome. Your server will have specific training around those barriers and what they can do to proactively make a difference. We can also understand that having a disability often means extra living expenses, and not being to flash with cash. For that reason, we’re giving you 10% off hot drinks. How sweet is that!"
Standing and Queuing

Who likes queuing, but for those who find this an actual problem then we are happy to come to you to take your order. Just make sure we know that you are there!
Level Access

There is excellent access via three doors all with flat access. There is plenty of room in the cafe so getting around will not be a problem.
Distances

There are two options for parking. There is an open air carpark within 30m of the cafe, and there is the Lichfield Street multi story car park with an elevator that comes out just 20m from the cafe.
Urgent Toilet Access

There is no toilet within the cafe, the nearest one is a 30m walk down a wide corridor, and then a couple of steps, or a long ramp which adds a further 20m.
Disability Assist Dogs

Registered assistance dogs are welcome in the cafe. The City Promenade walk along the Avon River is less than 100m away which can be a good place for the dog to stretch its legs and relieve itself. We will provide a bowl for your dog so it has a ?drink too.
Essential Companions

We appreciate that not everyone in your group is wanting to purchase a drink, or something to eat. We are good with that, we think they will crack when they see the cabinet and smell those wonderful aromas, but if they have the will power then that’s all good with us.
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information

Our drinks and food menus are written, and so is the description of the items in the cabinet. However, your server is more than happy to assist in explaining what we can offer, and they know you may need just a bit of extra time to decide what you want. Remember, if it is easier we can come to you at the table.
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information

We are not in the position to offer sign language, but your server will be happy to spend the time needed with you so that you get what you want. Remember, if it is easier we can come to you at the table. You do play music in the cafe at a low volume, but if that causes you a problem we are happy to turn it off for the duration of your visit with us.
Hidden Disabilities

When we see this icon on your card we will ask how we can support you in having a great experience in our cafe.
