Overview
The Loft opened in July 2016, but the idea behind it was born following the 2010/2011 Canterbury earthquakes. Many organisations lost premises, but gained a unique opportunity to reorganise and re-build differently to better meet the changing needs of local families and communities. The Loft’s community of agencies is now better positioned than ever before to address for the needs of our city’s most vulnerable children, young people and their families.

Standing and Queuing

We can move you straight into our Client Meeting Rooms so you do not need to wait in the reception area. (When rooms are available)
Level Access

Our space is wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet on site and further accessible toilets available across the corridor.
Distances

We are based upstairs and accessible by two lifts. There is disabled parking available close to Eastgate Mall. The following bus routes serve the mall; 140 Russley & Hornby Via Eastgate, 155 Eastgate Mall, OC orbiter via Burnside High School, 5 Hornby Via City, 80 Linclon via City, and OA Orbiter via the Palms. There is between a 300m and 400m walk from the bus stops.

We have an accessible and standard toilets on site with further accessible and standard toilets available across the corridor.
Disability Assist Dogs

Disability Assist Dogs are welcome in the office and can access a short route to the outside area for their toilet needs. We will provide them with a drinking bowl with water.

Your support person is welcome to attend your assessments or meeting.
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information

We can support you by reading material out and confirm information is understood.
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information

We can support with visual leaflets and information. We can communicate with writing if this is easier for you and use the NZSL Relay Service to aid in communicating both at the meeting or when speaking over the phone in the future.
