Overview
We are Wānaka's lakefront sauna experience! Nestled in the raw and majestic nature of Wānaka, our unique setup offers heat therapy in the sauna, complemented by cold therapy in Lake Wānaka. The experience is fully hosted and designed to be an immersive social and physical wellness journey.
Enjoy stunning mountain and lake views from inside the sauna. We are based at The Outlet in Wānaka (just a short drive from the town centre) and offer a weekly class schedule featuring our flagship Guided Session, as well as Social and Silent sessions. Private sauna options are also available.

Free entry is available for the support person.
The site for The Sauna Wānaka is out in raw nature, and we have uneven ground and 4 stairs to get into the sauna itself. Bookings the day before are recommended and any additional information given by email so we can give staff notice in advance and serve you as best we can.
Priority parking is available within 20m of the site. Email in advance to arrange a visit.
Standing and Queuing
We have indoor and outdoor seating, front-of-queue access for Hāpai cardholders, and a fully hosted experience with support always available.
Level Access
Due to the natural design of the sauna, there is currently an access barrier at the entrance, and no ramp is available. Please also note that the terrain on site is uneven. Our friendly staff are always available to assist and ensure your visit is safe and comfortable.
Distances
The carpark is located close to the sauna. Showers are available on site.
Urgent Toilet Access
Unisex toilet available for customers. Please ask staff for directions or follow the signage. Assistance will be provided if needed.
Disability Assist Dogs
We comply with New Zealand law regarding Disability Assist Dogs. All registered Disability Assist Dogs are permitted entry to the business venue.
Essential Companions
Free entry is available for the support person.
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information
All welcome information is available on a welcome card.
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information
Verbal welcome to each visitor, and the experience is fully hosted. Hosts are available at any time to answer questions as needed. We also offer a Guided Session, where the host is in the sauna, highly recommended for a full experience. The host can provide support inside the sauna as needed.
Hidden Disabilities
We have multiple spaces available (dome and lawn) if a visitor requires them. We also offer a Silent Session, which means no talking inside the sauna.
