The Homestead itself remains largely as it was built, with almost all of its original door and window joinery, elaborate ceiling roses, parquet floors and marble fireplaces intact.
The park today has one of the finest collections of large and rare exotic trees in Auckland and enjoys views that include the Manukau Harbour, One Tree Hill and the Waitakere Ranges.
Notes for Cardholders

Standing and Queuing
Please make yourself know to the staff members. We will ask you to take a seat, and we will serve you there.
Level Access
Our building has level access throughout. The best entrance is our second entrance, located to the right of the building, through an open gate. The ramp is visible from there.
Distances
Our building is large with onsite parking spaces available. There is plenty of seating in the café.
Urgent Toilet Access
We have 2 accessible toilets and 2 standard toilets. If you present this icon to us we will ensure you are next to use the toilet in a discrete way.
Disability Assist Dogs
We comply with the NZ law with respect to Disability Assistance Dogs. The staff will offer you water for your dog and will indicate the nearest place for the dog to relieve itself.
Please note that dogs frequent the outside areas of the gallery. This may be unsuitable, or a good training ground, for a dog-in-training.
Our upstairs galleries often have delicate objects on the floor and therefore may not be suitable for assistance dogs in training.
Essential Companions
Offering for +1 icon is not yet available.
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information
Through the training, the staff are well-informed about adapting their communication and assisting individuals who are blind or have low vision. They can assist you to a seat and guide you to a toilet if required.
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information
Through the training that the staff have done with the Hāpai Access Card, they are aware of how they can modify how they communicate with you. This includes making sure you can see their face when speaking, speaking clearly, use of pen and paper and being patient. The staff are aware of the NZ Relay service, so please use this if you think it appropriate when ringing if needed.
Hidden Disabilities
Through the staff's training, they are generally aware of hidden disabilities. Please speak to them about how they can assist in making your time with us extraordinary.
