Overview
The Ashburton Event Centre is a modern, versatile facility for meetings, conferences, trade shows, live performances or theatre productions. Located on Wills Street, the Ashburton Event Centre can host events of up to 500 people.

Standing and Queuing

Please take a seat, and our front-of-house (FOH) staff will assist you by placing you in a virtual queue. Serving at your seat will also be an option.
Level Access

Our building has partial level access, including accessible parking located from the back carpark. The entrance is located off Wills Street. Front and back entrance to Guardian Gallery (with toilets), Woodham Foyer ,and Door A into the O'Reilly auditorium are on level access. The Bradford Room has a lift access. Our wheelchair seating is located in the front close to the stage.

Our building is not large and there is plenty of seating throughout that you are welcome to use.
Urgent Toilet Access

We have one accessible toilet for each male and female, and six standard toilets on level access. If you present this icon to us we will ensure you are next to use the toilet in a discrete way.
Disability Assist Dogs

We comply with the NZ law with respect to Disability Assistance Dogs. The staff will offer you water for your dog and will indicate the nearest place for the dog to relieve itself.
Essential Companions

For cardholders with this icon we are happy to offer a free companion ticket. In order to book this please give us a call on 03 307 2010 to enquire about a essential companion ticket, one per show on first come, first served basis.
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information

Through the Training, the staff are well-informed about adapting their communication and assisting individuals who are blind or have low vision. They can help you with the bar menu, assist you to a seat and guide you to the theatre / toilet if required.
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information

Through the training that the staff have done with the Hāpai Access Card, they are aware of how they can modify how they communicate with you. This includes making sure you can see their face when speaking, speaking clearly, use of pen and paper and being patient.
Hidden Disabilities

Through the staff's training they are generally aware of hidden disabilities, please speak to them about how they can assist in making your time with us extraordinary.
