Overview
Zero ropes, Zero harnesses, Zero Hassle. Bouldering is climbing made simple. A great workout for the body and the mind, bouldering combines problem solving and physical exercise on a 3-dimensional level, providing endless possibilities for full-body workouts and fun for all. Our skilled team of Route Setters create boulder “problems”, which are a combination of artificial holds attached to the walls, creating a colourful path for you to solve and summit. With walls engineered to a specific height, our specifically designed crash-pads keep you safe, while allowing you to freely attempt even the most technical of our climbs. For young or old, tall or small, bouldering can be a full-on replacement to your workout routine, or a social, recreational activity to enjoy with friends, family or by yourself. Boulder Co. has been designed with the growth and development of the New Zealand climbing community in mind, encouraging climbers to hang out, climb hard, and have fun.

Standing and Queuing

No need to worry about queuing! If someone is at the counter, simply take a seat in the ground floor café area and show us your Hāpai Access Card. We’ll come over to assist you.
Level Access

Bouldering in a wheelchair is not possible, as our walls do not have pulleys or ropes. climbing relies on using your arms only. Our soft pads cannot accommodate a wheelchair, so please be prepared to leave it behind. It’s important for all climbers to climb only as high as they feel comfortable. Falling is part of the activity, and the mats do not guarantee a completely safe landing. Every new climber receives a personalised safety briefing, including fall practice. While we cannot provide a staff member to assist for the entire session, bouldering is a social activity, and we’ll happily introduce you to a climbing buddy from our community. Wheelchair access is available in most areas of the ground floor, though one area may be tight for particularly wide chairs. Accessible parking is located directly outside the entrance.
Distances

Essential Companions

Our facility contains a lot of visual information, and our friendly staff are happy to assist with menus and pricing details. When bouldering, having a “+1” companion or buddy can be helpful. They can help keep your landing area clear and assist you in identifying which holds to use.
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information

Bouldering is an activity that shouldn’t be rushed, and we like to take the time to get to know our customers. We will ensure you have plenty of time to understand everything we explain. While we do not currently offer sign language, a written list of all topics covered in our safety induction is available for your reference.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to keep our climbing walls fresh and exciting.
