Notes for Cardholders
Standing and Queuing
If you are unable to queue, please take a seat and wave your card at one of our team members, all of whom wear name badges. We will serve you there.
Level Access
Please make yourself known to staff, we will escort you to level access at the side of the building.
We have level access into the main foyer off the street. Level access to your seat is via an external door to the front of the auditorium. Only the front section is accessible on one level as the auditorium seating is raked.
Distances
Our building is not large and there is plenty of seating throughout that you are welcome to use.
The most suitable parking is on the street. There is a 10 minute carpark outside the front of the theatre for drop-offs.
Urgent Toilet Access
Toilets are in the foyer area. Our foyer toilets are at street level and have one accessible cubicle in each.
When booking, the nearest seats to a toilet will be at the rear of the auditorium. There are steps between the auditorium and the foyer.
Disability Assist Dogs
We comply with the NZ law with respect to Disability Assist dogs. The staff will offer you water for your dog and will indicate the nearest place for the dog to relieve itself if required.
Essential Companions
Additional tickets for Essential Companions (+1) accompanying Hāpai Access Cardholders are at the discretion of our theatre hirers.
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information
Through the training, the staff are well-informed about adapting their communication and assisting individuals who are blind or have low vision. They can help with reading the bar menu, assisting you to a seat and guiding you to the theatre or toilet if required.
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information
We have a loop feed in our venue; please ask our staff for additional information.
Through the training that the staff have done with the Hāpai Access Card, they are aware of how they can modify how they communicate with you. This includes making sure you can see their face when speaking, speaking clearly, use of pen and paper and being patient. The staff are aware of the NZ Relay service, so please use this if you think it appropriate when ringing, if needed.
Hidden Disabilities
Through the staff's training, they are generally aware of hidden disabilities. Please speak to them about how they can assist in making your time with us great.
