Overview
Coffee Culture is finally part of the historic town of Kaiapoi and where better to be than in Kaiapoi's very own iconic Blackwell's department store.
Rachel, Rhys and their team are thrilled to be part of the community, and her beautiful store is the perfect spot to catch up with friends, pop in for a pick-me-up or have a leisurely lounge over a latte in the sun (weather permitting of course). Delicious snacks and desserts accompany a great range of hot and cold drinks and are served by some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. Come see us soon.
Notes for Cardholders
At Coffee Culture Kaiapoi we want all our customers to feel welcome and receive excellent service. We realise that our disabled customers face some barriers that we can help them overcome. Your server will have specific training around those barriers and what they can proactively do to make a difference. We also realise that having a disability often means extra living expenses, and not being so flush with cash. So just present your card and we will give you 10% off hot drinks.
Standing and Queuing
Who likes queuing, but for those who find this an actual problem then we are happy to come to you to take your order. Just make sure we know that you are there
Level Access
Our store has wheelchair access. The front door can be a bit tricky so please feel free to wait at the entrance and one of the staff will come and assist you. There is parking directly outside our store.
Distances
Our store is near the bus stops on Williams Street. These stops are just a 2 minute walk (100m) from our store on either side of the Kaiapoi River.
Urgent Toilet Access
Our store has a single, unisex, disabled customer toilet. It may not be available at short notice due to use by another customer.
Disability Assist Dogs
We love dogs, and have water bowls available, and even free dog friendly treats. Registered assistance dogs are welcome inside our store.
Essential Companions
We appreciate that not everyone in your group is wanting to purchase a drink, or something to eat. We are good with that, we think they will crack when they see the cabinet and smell those wonderful aromas, but if they have the will power then that’s all good with us.
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information
Our drinks and food menus are written, and so is the description of the items in the cabinet. However, your server is more than happy to assist in explaining what we can offer, and they know you may need just a bit of extra time to decide what you want. Remember, if it is easier we can come to you at the table.
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information
We are not in the position to offer sign language, but your server will be happy to spend the time needed with you so that you get what you want. Remember, if it is easier we can come to you at the table.
Hidden Disabilities
We understand that the icons on the card don’t cover every accessible
barrier and so when we see this icon on a card we will ask how we can
make your visit to our store a great one
