Overview
We are lovers of puzzles and team challenges. At Escape Artists, we have centrally located escape rooms, providing a uniquely interactive, hands-on problem-solving experience. Escape rooms offer a series of puzzles, riddles, and clues that you must solve in a fast-paced situation to 'escape' the room. New Zealand has plenty of escape rooms available; however, we believe we offer the best experience in Christchurch.
Notes for Cardholders
Essential Companion (+1) Free Entry
Standing and Queuing
We very occasionally have a queue; however, if there is one while you are visiting, show your Hāpai Card, and our staff will assist you by bringing you to the front of the queue and offering you a seat. Seating is available in our reception area, and we can also place a chair in any of the escape rooms upon request.
Level Access
Our building has level access throughout. The best entrance is the main entrance, located off Hereford Street inside the BNZ Centre. While we do not have any designated parking, the Terrace car park building next door has accessible parking on every floor and a lift.
Distances
We do not have any designated parking. However, the Terrace car park building next door has accessible parking on every floor and a lift. This parking building is 60m from our entrance.
Urgent Toilet Access
We have one accessible toilet inside our premises and access to six other toilets within 20 meters of our entrance. If you present this icon to us, we will ensure you are next to use the toilet in a discreet manner.
Disability Assist Dogs
We comply with the NZ law with respect to Disability Assistance Dogs. The staff will offer you water for your dog and will indicate the nearest place for the dog to relieve itself.
Essential Companions
For cardholders with this icon we are happy to offer a free companion ticket. In order to book this please give us a call on 03 662 9055
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information
The escape rooms require a fairly high level of vision to play, such as entering codes into padlocks and reading clues. It is best managed by having at least one player in the group with strong eyesight.
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information
Through the training that the staff have done with the Hāpai Access Card, they are aware of how they can modify how they communicate with you. This includes making sure you can see their face when speaking, speaking clearly, use of pen and paper and being patient. The staff are aware of the NZ Relay service, so please use this if you think it appropriate when ringing if needed.
We have written copies of all audio clues inside the rooms available and are able to provide clues via text if preferred.
Hidden Disabilities
Through the staff's training, they are generally aware of hidden disabilities. Please speak to them about how they can assist in making your time with us extraordinary.
