Overview
FAB Drivers is a companion driving service in East Auckland. We offer safe, reliable, and personalized services with extra care and attention. We meet you at your door, provide assistance, and deliver you to your destination—whether it’s for appointments, shopping, errands, or lunch with friends. We can either accompany you if required or collect you when you’re ready. FAB Drivers is an ACC provider, and we also accept the Hāpai Access Card. FAB stands for Friendly, Affordable, and we’ll brighten your day.
Notes for Cardholders
Hāpai Access Cardholders: 5% discount
Total Mobility (TM) Cardholders: Subsidized rate
These offers are separate. If you hold both cards, the TM Card usually offers better travel value, but the Hāpai Access Card provides additional benefits beyond discounts.
Standing and Queuing
Our team is trained to assist clients with standing or mobility challenges. All our vehicles have Mobility Parking Permits, allowing us to park as close to the destination as possible. We always assist clients with their appointments and ensure they are seated as quickly as possible.
Level Access
We do not have wheelchair-accessible vehicles.
Distances
All of our vehicles have Mobility Parking Permits, allowing us to always use accessible parking spaces at our destinations. As specialists in our local area, East Auckland, we know where public toilets are located and where accessible parking is available nearby.
Our team will always walk our clients to their destination and stay close by to ensure their comfort and safety, both when getting in and out of the vehicle and as we walk to the destination. We will always offer an arm or stay close to clients using a walker or walking stick.
Urgent Toilet Access
As specialists in our local area, East Auckland, we know where public toilets are located.
Disability Assist Dogs
We are very happy to transport service animals. Many of our clients have guide dogs, and we are always glad to have them with us.
Essential Companions
Absolutely, we are very happy to transport a support person, and there is no extra charge for this.
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information
Our team is trained to assist visually impaired clients. We meet them at their door, guide them to the vehicle, and verbally explain any obstacles, such as steps or doors. In the vehicle, we discuss exactly where they are going and where we will meet them. For most of our visually impaired clients, we stay with them at their appointments or assist with shopping when needed.
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information
We are all happy to assist clients with hearing impairments by providing written information to confirm their requirements.
Hidden Disabilities
Our team is very experienced in ensuring that our clients feel safe and comfortable in our vehicles. We are caring, friendly, and understanding. We take the time to get to know our clients and provide a highly personalized service—whether that involves lots of chatting and laughter, playing their favorite music, or enjoying a quiet drive, we’ll quickly figure out what works best for them.
