Overview
We are a family-owned restaurant creating humble, fresh and delicious Kai (Food), for our guests. We serve the best Fish & Chips and Milkshakes in town but even if you don't love kaimoana (seafood) there is something on our menu for everyone. OUR KAUPAPA (PURPOSE): Our purpose is to normalise te reo Māori in our community. We will epitomise manaakitanga (respect, hospitality, generosity and care for others) and kaitiakitanga (guardianship, stewardship and trusteeship) in everything that we do in the pursuit of tino rangatiratanga (self determination). MANA & MANAAKITANGA: At Fush, we believe that the one variable that matters more than anything in our industry is the level of manaakitanga that we give our manuhiri, our guests. We are passionate about manaakitanga. Our whānau was brought up to believe that mana and manaaki go as a pair, they go hand in hand.
Notes for Cardholders

Standing and Queuing
queue.png
We offer table service, so there is no need for customers to order at the counter and wait. The only time they would need to stand and queue is to pay and we have portable eftpos machines and can take a cash payment at the table.
Level Access
wheelchair.png
We have large double doors to allow the guest to enter the building. We can cater to most sized wheelchairs, however we are not a large restaurant so some areas of the restaurant may not be accessible with larger types of wheelchairs. If it is a warm day, we have plenty of outdoor tables too which are accessible. There is ample wheelchair parking in the two carparks outside the restaurant. We have plenty of low seating to accomodate. The route to the toilets is clear and wide.
Distances

There are multiple wheelchair parks in the carparks opposite the restaurant as well as carparks right outside the back door where taxis can park if they are available. There is a bus stop 100m from the restaurant.
Urgent Toilet Access

We have 3 toilets available within the restaurant. One of which is, wheelchair accessible. We are a 125m2 large restaurant, so the toilets are close by if they are needed urgently.
Disability Assist Dogs

We can absolutely cater to assistance dogs. We have both indoor and outdoor spaces and we offer dog bowls for our furry friends.
Essential Companions

There is no requirement for the carer or companion to eat if they do not wish to.
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information

At this stage we do not have an audio file for our menu however, we can look at implementing this. We will however, endeavour to take the time to sit down and read though the menu with our guests if they have trouble reading it.
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information

We are aware of the NZ Relay service and we are happy to use this. We will slow down our speech and write things down where required. We will talk with the guest to ensure they are comfortable and feel understood and respected.
Hidden Disabilities

We will ask "I see that you have the 'other needs icon' on your card, what can I do to assist you in having a great time at our restaurant?"
