Overview
Welcome to Jellie Park. Come relax, have fun and exercise with us!
With 2 lane pools (regular and sports pool), indoor hydroslide, toddler pool, sauna, steam room
and spa pool we have something for everyone.
Prefer to work out in the gym? We also have group fitness classes so you can improve your fitness and work on your wellbeing.
Outdoor Pool option during the summer months, includes hydroslide, dive well, wet playground and a 50M Lane pool.

Standing and Queuing
We have seven accessible carparks near the front entrance (40 metres to the door).
If staff see your Hāpai Access card/lanyard or you inform them that you are struggling, they will ask you to come to the front of the queue or direct you to available seating.
Wheelchairs, including wet wheelchairs, are available.
Level Access
We have seven accessible carparks near the front entrance (40 metres to the door).
The entrance area is flat, with two sets of automatic doors.
Poolside
Pool access is through an entry gate. Please ask staff if you need help.
Wet wheelchairs are available and are stored in the first aid room. Ask a staff member if you’d like to use one.
We have two accessible changing rooms, and both have a bed, toilet and shower.
Your wheelchair can be left outside the accessible change area. Your scooter/walking frame can be left poolside if it doesn’t block a pathway or emergency exit.
Lifeguards will help you with your equipment when you’re ready to leave the pool.
We have a mobile hoist with a chair that can be used at any of the pools. These are self-transfer or carer-assistance only.
There is no ramp access for the indoor pools. The outdoor pool and teach pool have ramp access.
The recreation pool, sports pool and toddlers pool have step access. The recreation pool has a handrail.
The steam room and sauna are accessible, but you may need help with the doors.
We have a hoist, but please bring your own slings for the hoist, they are not available to hire.
Dryside
Gym access is through an entry gate. If you need help, just ask a staff member.
The sports hall is through double doors. If you need help, just ask.
Group fitness classes are accessible. If you need help with the double doors, please ask a staff member.
There’s an accessible toilet near the main entrance, and this has an automatic door and handrail.
Distances
There are seven accessible carparks located near the front entrance (40 metres to the door).

Urgent Toilet Access
We have accessible and public toilets. They are well signposted and open to the public.
Disability Assist Dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome and can wait beside the pool. Speak to a lifeguard if you have any queries or you need help.
There is a grass area beside the carpark on Ilam Road.
Essential Companions
Your support person has free access to the activity you are attending.
Your support person’s role is to help with communication and any personal care, help you through the facility and support you in an emergency. They can help you in the pool if required or actively monitor from the side.
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information
Staff are able to help you to read signs and other information and can guide you to different areas, including toilets, doorways, and help you negotiate any hazards.
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information
Staff will communicate clearly with you, moving to a quieter area if necessary. Let staff know if writing information for you to read could help.
There is no hearing loop available at Jellie Park.
Hidden Disabilities
Staff will ask if there is any way we can help you during your visit. We will follow your lead to make sure you have the best possible experience.
