We provide programmes, facilities and resources, so that you can access a world of ideas and imagination. You can use our spaces to study, create, have fun or meet with other people. Te Kete Wānanga o Ihutai | Linwood Library is located on the first floor of Eastgate Mall. We have a collection of books, magazines and AV materials for all ages that you are welcome to borrow. Find out more about te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao Māori in Ngā Pounamu Māori and many other cultures in our wider collections. We have free WIFI, 17 computers, and a gaming console. We also provide exhibition spaces for local artists to display their work. At the Linwood Service Centre you are able to access the full range of council services and information. This includes paying your rates, registering your dog, topping up your Metro Card, making a community facilities booking, or obtaining information about your property. This site is also a NZ Post Plus site where you are able to purchase stamps and post bags, send NZ and International parcels with courier and tracking services, pay power and phone bills, make finance payments, and more. The Customer Services team are available Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 5pm. Note the customer service desk is not open during weekends.

Standing and Queuing
We always have staff roving in the library and we are very happy for you to simply approach us or to come to you. This is not a quiet library and you are welcome to call out or wave to us for help. There are many seating options around the library including close to our main service areas. A wheelchair is available for you to borrow from Mall Management on request.
Level Access
Our library is accessible for those who use wheelchairs. There are 14 wheelchair parks directly outside the Eastgate Shopping Centre. Access to the second floor is via a lift. This can be found beside Postie Plus on the ground floor and there are two wheelchairs available from Mall Management on request. The majority of our resources are wheelchair accessible, and our approachable staff are on hand to help you with retrieving items if you want assistance.
The nearest disabled carparking is in the mall carpark and is a significant distance from the entrance to the library. There are many opportunities for you to sit down between the entrance to the mall and the library and if you prefer a wheelchair is available for loan on request to Mall Management.
Urgent Toilet Access
Public toilets for men and women, including disabled toilets are near the entrance to the library by the Mall Management office. Toilets are also available on the ground floor of the Mall.
Disability Assist Dogs
Assistance dogs are very welcome in the library, if your dog is thirsty please let us know and we will provide water for them. There are sometimes Reading to Dogs programmes in the library. Untrained dogs are not allowed in the library.
