Overview
Moana Pool offers a diverse range of aquatic facilities designed for everyone, from serious swimmers to families seeking fun and relaxation. Our 50m main pool, which can be configured as two 25m pools, is ideal for lane swimming, training, and aquatic sports. Dedicated dive pools with platforms and springboards support diving, water polo, and other specialised activities. For learners and families, the warm learners pool provides a safe, shallow environment for swimming education, while the leisure pool delivers an exciting experience with waves, a rapid river, interactive water features, and a dedicated toddlers’ area. Visitors can also enjoy our water slides for fast-paced fun or relax in the adults-only spa pool, featuring therapeutic jets. With a strong commitment to accessibility, including ramps, pool lifts, and a submersible water wheelchair, Moana Pool ensures everyone can enjoy the water in their own way.
Notes for Cardholders
A casual Hāpai Access Card swim pass costs $3.00 and is valid for 7 days. Multiple weeks can be purchased in advance if required. Carers accompanying a pass holder receive free entry.
To book the pool hoist, please call 03 477 4000 or email dunedinpools@dcc.govt.nz. Advance booking is required, and there is no charge for using the hoist.
Standing and Queuing
Three mobility car parks are located at the front of the building. Seating is available at reception. A wheelchair is available to assist you to the lift; please ask the receptionist if you would like to use it.
Level Access
A flat path leads to two sets of automatic doors at the entrance to the facility. Automatic internal doors provide access to the lift.
Distances
Three accessible parking spaces are available at the entrance to the facility. Wheelchairs are available, including two for water use and one for use around the facility. Carers are welcome to assist if required
Urgent Toilet Access
Public toilets are available in the reception area. The entrances to the changing rooms, including larger accessible toilets, are also located in the reception area.
Disability Assist Dogs
We comply with New Zealand law regarding Disability Assist Dogs. All registered Disability Assist Dogs are permitted entry to the venue.
Essential Companions
Cardholders with this icon are eligible for free entry for a support person.
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information
Staff are available to help you read signs and other information, and can guide you to different areas, including toilets and changing rooms
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information
There is clear signage, including wayfinding. Staff also have paper and pens available for use.
Hidden Disabilities
Staff will discreetly ask if there is any assistance we can provide during your visit.
