Overview
The Museum of Kawatiri tells the stories of the Pakeha/European settlers in the Buller District who created economic prosperity with the mining and export of coal.

Standing and Queuing
We can offer priority entry into the museum and allow you to move to the front of any queue, and offer seating too.
Level Access
We will assist with entry into the museum or where needed.
Distances
We will assist with walking the card holder through the museum, making sure there are no barriers in their way and offer a wheelchair if required.
Urgent Toilet Access
We can assist the card holder to the toilet in a discreet manner.
Disability Assist Dogs
We allow disability dogs on our premises, and will provide a drink for them.
Essential Companions
We offer free of charge entry for a companion/carer.
Difficulty Accessing Visual Information
We can communicate verbally about any information the card holder requires. We can also offer assistance with seating and talk through any payment options.
Difficulty Accessing Audible Information
We can offer to write information down about our services we provide, and can adjust audios accordingly.
Hidden Disabilities
Through the staff's training, they are generally aware of hidden disabilities. Please speak to them about how they can assist in making your time with us extraordinary.
