Overview
Where Theme Park meets Climbing Wall! Clip ‘n Climb is the most exciting new concept in indoor climbing to have emerged in the past decade. It is 100% pure Kiwi and was developed here in Christchurch. Clip ‘n Climb is incredibly popular with families, friends, schools, youth groups, sports teams, work socials and corporates alike – there is no minimum or maximum age.
Based on our experience, no matter what your ability, we can give you a great experience. We regularly have disabled individuals and groups of disabled people at Clip ‘n Climb, and the staff know how to help you make the most of your visit. In all, there are 38 different climbs for you to enjoy. We have automatic belay devices on every climb, just clip them onto your harness and away you go. When you are finished just let go and the device will gently lower you back down to the ground – it’s as simple as that!
Session Information:
All Clip ‘n Climb sessions start on the hour. The first 15 minutes is for harnessing up and a safety briefing, then it is into 45 minutes of full on climbing. Make sure you wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes – sandals and jandals are not suitable for climbing.
Notes for Cardholders
Unless you are a regular, please phone us beforehand so that we can work with you to create the best experience for you, or your group.
We offer Hāpai Access Cardholders a discounted rate of NZ$12 for Clip 'n Climb and the Main Wall (bookings essential).

Queuing is not an issue at the centre. If there are people at the counter then you can go directly to the climbing area and wait until the counter is free.
Level Access
The access to Clip ‘n Climb is directly from the street via double doors and should not present any problems. The climbing areas are all on the ground floor. There is a first floor at the centre, but it can only be accessed via stairs. However, no climbing activities happen on that floor. The staff at the centre can help you get the most out of your visit. However, there are some limitations so please accept the staff’s decisions about what is possible and safe.
Distances
We suggest arranging a drop-off as parking between 9am - 5pm on weekdays can be difficult. There are two 5min parking spaces directly outside the entrance. We suggest you arrive at least 15 minutes early to facilitate finding a carpark. Parks during the weekends or after 5pm on weekdays are readily available, but we still recommend you arrive before your booking. If you arrive late you are not entitled to receive a refund, or have your booking extended or have your booking moved to another time slot.
Urgent Toilet Access
The centre has a total of six toilets, four on the ground floor and two on the first floor. Two of the ground floor toilets are accessible toilets. If you, or someone in your group may need toilet access urgently, then make us aware - ideally by calling beforehand - and we can look to keeping one of the four ground floor toilets free.
