Overview
The Kind Foundation is dedicated to understanding and addressing the needs of individuals within their communities and workplaces. Our goal is to encourage personal development, support self-expression, and help people reach their full potential.
We achieve this through a range of programs and meaningful relationships, delivered by The Kind Foundation team who bring specialized skills in youth engagement, community work, recreation, and motivation. Our efforts are guided by our four core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
In Christchurch, we operate two Fitness Centres. Elevate Fitness is an inclusive gym where we provide personalized one-on-one guidance and support to every member and user.
Notes for Cardholders
We are pleased to offer a 12.5% discount on gym memberships, with additional payment method options available for your convenience. Gym Entry Concession Cards and Casual Entry are also available at discounted rates (please note that these options are exclusive and not available to other gym users). Additionally, free access is provided for one companion accompanying the member.

Level Access

At Bishopdale Recreation Centre, we have a single floor with wide doorways throughout for easy access. Our Papa Hou Central City location features two lifts: a large service lift available as an option for Hāpai Access Card users, and a standard-size lift. All doors at this location also have wide doorways to ensure accessibility.
Distances

We have large buildings with accessible parking available outside both of our facilities.
Urgent Toilet Access

At Bishopdale Recreation Centre, there is one accessible toilet in both the female and male changing rooms, along with eight standard toilets in each. At Papa Hou, each floor has one accessible toilet and six large individual toilets.
Disability Assist Dogs

We comply with the NZ law with respect to Disability Assistance Dogs. The staff will offer you water for your dog and will indicate the nearest place for the dog to relieve itself.
