Overview
Welcome to our library Haere mai ki tō tātou Kā Whare Pukapuka We hope you enjoy your time with us as you learn, imagine, and explore. Our focus is on outstanding customer service, a diverse range of resources, a dynamic collection, and offering programs, activities, and opportunities that reflect and empower our hapori. From late-night openings and our Tinker Zone to preschool programs, we aim to provide something for everyone. If you can’t visit our library in person, we also offer an e-library with over 70,000 resources. These include movies, crafts, comics, music, audiobooks, magazines, newspapers, and more. You can also explore our history through the Recollect platform. We are a fines-free library, with no charges for holds or overdue items, and only a small fee for our bestsellers. This means you can visit any of our branches or place a hold without worrying about costs. The Trevor Inch Memorial Library, informally known as the Rangiora Library, is our largest branch and offers: Free-to-use public library computers, 24/7 Wi-Fi, Tinker Zone, Rangiora Chamber Gallery, and visitor materials.

Our staff can help you when you visit. If you let us know, we can provide a seat at the desk and adjust its height so you don’t have to stand. Staff often move around the library, just approach us or call out if you need help. They wear lanyards in blue, purple, orange, and green. A manual wheelchair is available at the entrance if needed. We have one accessible catalogue in our Rangatahi area, which can be lowered to your height for easier use.
Level Access

Once you arrive at the building, there are automated doors for entry into the library. The library is all on one level. Please note that there are two pull doors between the library and the toilets.
Distances

We have bilingual signage in our building identifying the areas and shelving. Our computers all have text-to-speech accessibility, and if you need time with a librarian to find information, we are happy to help you by booking a ‘Book a Librarian’ appointment. We can also show you how to change the formatting of BorrowBox and Libby to make your books easier to read. If you would like to have access to Braille books, we are happy to see what is available at libraries around New Zealand who take part in the Interloan Scheme.
