Open daily from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Last guided tour and final entry to the geothermal trails is at 3:00 PM. The daily Cultural Performance takes place at 12:30 PM.

Overview
Whakarewarewa is the cherished home and legacy of the Tūhourangi Ngāti Wāhiao people, who have graciously welcomed visitors from around the world for over two hundred years, sharing their unique way of life through Village Guided Tours, self-guided Geothermal Trails, and Cultural Performances.
Notes for Cardholders

Enjoy a 10% discount on any experience that is not already discounted.

We recommend making a booking between March and October to ensure availability.
From October to March, during our busy season, bookings are essential.

Standing and Queuing

Cardholders can simply show their Hapai card to our staff, who will gladly offer a seat or help them move to the front of the queue.
Level Access

Automatic doors are available at every entrance to our Admissions Building and Café. Additionally, a ramp provides easy access between each room.
Distances

There are two accessible car parks located just outside our Admissions Building, approximately 15 meters from the entrance. Wheelchairs and walkers are available free of charge during your visit—please contact us in advance if you would like to pre-book one.
Urgent Toilet Access

The wharepaku (toilets) in our Admissions and Café buildings are always unlocked for your convenience. There are three in the Café and four in Admissions, all unisex. In each area, one wharepaku is wheelchair accessible.
Disability Assist Dogs

All registered Disability Assist dogs are welcome in our venue. Accepted proof of registration includes either the visitor’s Hāpai Access Card displaying the icon above, or valid registration documentation along with the dog wearing its official service jacket (coat, vest, or harness).

All guided tours and cultural performances include audio commentary. Our geothermal trails are self-guided and currently available only in written format.

We offer maps in eight different languages for our Village Guided Tour and Geothermal Trails. These are provided to each visitor upon arrival.
